Magic Schools.
First and foremost, if your fairy tale character is not a magic user, you MUST have a reasonable twist on the fairy tale character that allows for the use of those abilities. (Red Riding Hood is a werewolf, for example). If an argument can be made for characters who would not be full on magic users, but having a single ability (Snow white summoning birds, mice and small animals and being able to communicate, for instance) chat with staff about being allowed to purchase that one ability as a skill. You may only put as many skill points into a magic as you have in the Soul stat.
Beginners may choose one magic school and get all the spells in that school at their level.
Moderates may choose two magic schools and get all the spells in that school at their level.
Advanced may choose three magic schools and get all the spells in that school at their level.
Note: Djinn MUST take elemental magic in their element as one of their schools. This is to counterbalance their wish magic. Djinn may not take their opposing element as an additional magical skill.
(REMEMBER: Magic schools ARE skills.)
