Transformation.

Shapeshifting: Change your form into that of an animal or another creature. You gain the basic, non-magical abilities of the creature in question.

Beginner: Allows transformation into a non-magical creature with one enhanced physical ability. (Wolf, Bear, Fox, Swan etc)

Moderate: Allows transformation into a non-magical creature with an additional enhanced ability.

Advanced: Allows transformation into magical creatures with two enhanced abilities. (Maleficent turning into a dragon with a tough hide and breath weapon, a werewolf with regeneration and enhanced strength etc)

Polymorph: Transform other beings into something else of a mundane nature– house cat, mouse– mouse to human, cat to human ect. (The transformed being is only as smart as it was before transformation. It will, however, become more like the creature it is transformed into over time– generally years)

Enhanced Polymorph: Change another being’s form into that of an animal or another creature. Creatures retain their awareness.

Beginner: Allows transformation into a non-magical creature with one enhanced physical ability. (Wolf, Bear, Fox, Swan etc)

Moderate: Allows transformation into a non-magical creature with an additional enhanced ability. Creatures may speak.

Advanced: Allows transformation into magical creatures with two enhanced abilities. (Maleficent turning into a dragon with a tough hide and breath weapon, a werewolf with regeneration and enhanced strength etc) Enhanced abilities e.g. Regeneration, armored hide, strength, speed, only add ONE additional dice. Creatures may speak.

Note:  Unwilling targets of transformation magic may resist by rolling 1d10+Soul+Transformation (If applicable) and scoring higher than then Transformation roll cast on them. Transformed creatures will remain transformed until freed by a more powerful magic, Or they are released by the original caster.  A polymorphed creature cannot be transformed into another creature and then released to return to their original form. Instead, they will return to the form they had been polymorphed from. Also note that it is bad form to polymorph another player without discussing it first and reaching an agreement.

Alchemy (Object Transformation): Alchemy is the  transformation of matter. However, there are very specific rules that govern what can be transformed and what cannot be transformed.

 - Living matter cannot be transformed via the use of Alchemy. Flesh, on a living person, cannot be transformed into stone (If the person was dead, only the flesh would be transformed.) Nor could a tree be transformed while still growing.

- The form of matter cannot be transformed via Alchemy. A stone cannot be transformed into a gold ring with Alchemy. The ‘stone’, however, that was transformed into gold via Alchemy may then be crafted into a ring by a craftsman.

- The state of matter cannot be transformed via Alchemy. Wood cannot become water, nor can smoke, or air, become stone.

- Objects that are composed of many parts making up a whole (A chair) cannot be transformed into another material via Alchemy. Each individual part would need to be transformed and, depending upon which parts were transformed and in what order, may, or may not impact the success. Nor could Alchemy affect a potion, a potion being the sum of many individual parts.

- Alchemy cannot be used on the fly. It requires focus, action, concentration and tools to be successful. Rumplestiltskin, for instance, could turn straw into gold. However, it required the use of a spinning wheel and the act of spinning to be successful.

  • Beginner: The beginner Alchemist may transform 1lb of matter per week. Matter must be in its original form (rocks, logs, metal).

  • Moderate: The moderate Alchemist may transform 10lbs of matter per week. Matter can be in simple forms. (rings, planks, a sword blade)

  • Advanced: The Advanced Alchemist may transform 20lbs of Matter per week. Matter can be in more complex shapes as long as it is not composed of parts. (A small stone statue)

  • Weights are based on the weight of the matter in its pretransformed state.
